This is a safeTALK Trainer Certification Opportunity for Active & Reserve authorized users. Please read thoroughly.

In support of the Marine Forces Reserve’s CREDO program and the Chief of Navy Reserve’s (CNR) Fighting Instructions and the Navy Culture of Excellence, the opportunity to be certified as an Suicide Alertness For Everyone (safeTALK) trainer is being offered to Civilians, Reservists and Active Duty service members, with preference given to MFR-connected personnel.

LOCATION: New Orleans, LA 

NOTE: ASIST is a prerequisite. You can register for the 09-10 MAY ASIST workshop at the New Orlean Base Chapel on our registration page at https://go.usa.gov/xhT9u

HOTEL VENUE: The Hyatt Regency, 601 Loyola Ave. Please make reservations under the MFR CREDO ASIST room block at the hotel. Breakfast and lunch will be provided at the hotel during training days. Please remove those meal payments from your DTS per diem since they are government-provided meals.

FUNDING: TAD funds (e.g., travel and per diem) are available, depending on your affiliation (see below). Individuals are encouraged to use remaining IDT periods for the FY and inquire with their supported commands on the availability of ATPs, IDTT, or ADT to attend. Non-pay drills (for points only) may also be utilized. If you can secure ATPs, that would be ideal; otherwise, you will need to schedule non-pay drills. Additionally, because this certification can be used in one’s civilian career/ministry, individuals who desire to attend and pay out of pocket are permitted to enroll. Personnel attached to MARFORRES may contact Chaplain Kermit Jones for information to apply for ATPs (no guarantee).
